History

VSE was founded following a management buy-out of GINAF Trucks. GINAF had already been developing hydraulic steering and suspension systems since 1986. In 2001, the first European trucks from other brands rolled off the belt, featuring an in-house designed electro-hydraulic steering system, called E-MAS. This was a first step into a new direction, i.e., cooperation with the major, leading European truck manufacturers. This was an excellent reason for VSE to separate from GINAF. The quality of products and services was thereby raised to a higher level.

The type approval for an electro-hydraulic steering system for trailers in 2004 constituted the go-ahead for a new product group under the name of ETS.

In 2006, the trailer steering system ETS was chosen as the winner of the ‘Components‘ category of the prestigious Trailer Innovation Award. The prize was awarded by the international specialised press, and was presented during the IAA in 2006.

VSE has had a strategic alliance with Weweler, a part of the VDL group, since 2005. In combination with their steering axle, we offer a complete, comprehensive and ready-made solution for an additional steered truck axle. As a result of this cooperation, an additional axle can be mounted quickly and the customer only needs one contact person for both axle and steering system.
